Citadel, bastion, fort, stronghold. These are some of the synonyms used to describe the meaning of citadel. My reason for using the synonyms for citadel is to give you, the reader, a better understanding of the performance of this fragrance. If you have read on other sites about Raw Spirit's take on Haitian Vetiver, then you might be mislead about its longevity and performance. My sampling of Citadelle is extremely good. The sample I have is about a year old. OK, now we have gotten that out of the way, what can you expect? I got a vitalizing lemon and bergamot opening that had the vetiver reacting, as described, clean and robust. The tagetes were there, but transparent. I did notice a sweet pear, but this was much later in the extended dry down. I put Cittadelle on at 3:00pm. I noticed the sweet pear at 10:00pm. That aspect was building gradually, but became much more apparent at that time. A clean musk seemed to be presenting itself in the latter stages, too. If you don't know what Haitian vetiver is like, or vetiver for that matter, then do yourself a favor and please sample this one. If you do know what it's like and enjoy this note, then you found the right one for you.

I love this Fragrance by Raw Spirit. In addition to the notes in the item description, I also found that when it opens up, it gets slightly vanilla-y in a good way. The lingering effect on my clothes is nice, too. I don't find it overpowering, although it does have some staying power.
