If you don't like woody notes, then this scent is not for you. Wood Haven is wood, wood, and more....well, wood! The fragrance opens with a kick of tangy citrus, quickly followed with spices of black pepper and ginger. Wood Haven is like wood doused in a spicy marinade that is then left to cure on the Gobi Desert.
NOTES: Bergamot, grapefruit, lemon, black pepper, pink peppercorns, juniper leaf, ginger root, vetiver, cedar, Guaiac Wood

Fresh, clean, wearable spicy citrus. Grapefruit, vetiver and just all kinds of goodness. Surprisingly wonderful in the winter months.

The dominant note in Wood Haven is Juniper Leaf--overwhelmingly so.
This fragrance is ALL about Juniper. If you don't like the scent of Juniper you should just move along.
The acidity of the Grapefruit, Lemon and Bergamont combined with the greenness of the Vetiver seems to amplify the Juniper note even further, although the citruses never makes themselves readily apparent. The Cedar and Guaiac Wood notes are so far in the background as to be practically non-existent, at least to my nose. It takes 4 or 5 hours for the Juniper to mellow out enough to even allow the detection of the Lemon and the Ceder.
Wood Haven is a masculine scent. It reminds me of synthetic human pheromones (androstenone, androstenol, androstadienone) only without the longevity or the 'dirty' smell so often associated with those compounds.
I like Wood Haven, though not enough to give it more than 3 stars. This is not the dynamic fragrance one usually anticipates from Mr.Pegg (Kerosene). With a little tweaking (or creative layering perhaps) this could be a winner.
