    Rosa Gallica

    by Brecourt

Rosa Gallica EDP is part of Brecourt's Ephémère collection, which aims to explore the old - and sometimes forgotten - universe of rare and precious essences that modern perfumery often abandons, because of high costs or because the raw materials are produced in such limited quantities that mass production is impossible.
For the first edition of the Ephémère collection, creator Emilie Bouge has birthed a fragrance that pays homage to the Gallic Rose. The Gallic Rose is one of the earliest cultivated rose species. The Greeks and Romans are known to have grown it, and it was also popular in medieval gardens. For Brecourt's Rosa Gallica EDP, Bouge sourced a farmer in Central Europe. ”After smelling an extract of its perfume, I was totally bewitched by its unmatched aromatic power," Bouge says of the fragrant flower.

NOTES: Gallic Rose, musk, woody notes

    1. Too harsh... 2 Star Review

I don't like it as much as I thought I might. Smells familiar. The rose is drowning in a large dose of a potent woody amber that always smells like rubbing alcohol to me and is prevalent in many niche perfumes. It kind of burns my sinuses so it's a no go for me. It actually reminds me a little of Le Labo Rose 31.

The best raw materials, blended beautifully. In this case a classic rose with a subtle base on which to rest.
