"Inspired by the medieval tapestry The Lady & The Unicorn, it's a chypre with mystery and magic. It makes grown men shiver, in a good way. Using perfumery materials to represent the forest, fruit trees, flowers, herb lawn, and the range of creatures - monkey, unicorn, lion, dog - we ended up recreating a classic chypre fragrance almost by accident. It smells almost identical to a vintage classic made in the early 1900s." Sarah McCartney

Lady Rose Lion is a hot mess on my skin. Starts off with a really plasticy peach (like melting plastic and scented doll heads), baby powder and soured grapefruit. Dries down to dusty wood, an out of place, herbal basil note, and a really funky, dirty oakmoss. Like a long forgotten spice rack. The whole thing is strange, dusty and sour on my skin.

I have to say I am very disappointed with this perfume. Thankfully, I bought it as a sample size first to test the scent. As soon as I applied it, I was hit with a very sour and almost rotten-compost-like smell. I am not sure if it was a mixture of the oak moss with the basil. I did not pick up on any of the peach, grapefruit or any of the more pleasant notes described. I actually had to wash it off right away - I couldn't actually wait to see how the base notes would smell - it made me physically ill.
As a side note, I noticed my skin became irritated almost instantly after spraying it onto my wrists. I have noticed this with some of the other perfumes as well. Nothing major, but definitely noticeable. I have particularly sensitive skin though, so most people wuld probably not have this issue.

I should really know better at this point to even TRY a perfume with oakmoss in its pyramid...but I was drawn in by the idea of the peach, honey and hay. BIG mistake. Instant headache on this one. I had no peach, no honey, no hay, no bergamot etc...just screeching, sharp OAKMOSS.

Peach, rose and honey are strong scents when first applied then fades to leathery patchouli. a very feminine perfume with a mystical feel of unicorn. I love the names of these perfumes!
