    Black Magic

    by Sebastiane

Something lingers in the air, as a mysterious presence beckons you.  You can smell leather, dewy grass, tart blackberries, a whiff of moist blooms.  It must be Voodoo, a dark enchantment, or Black Magic.

    Top Notes: Tonkabean, Vanila, Amber.

Heart Notes: Jasmine, Rose Otto, Blackberry, Frangipani.

    Base Notes: Benzoin, Leather, Vanilla.

    1. Not for me, but... 2 Star Review

Posted by on 25th Sep 2017

This is well-crafted but unforunately just not my thing. Other reviewers have mentioned notes that recall cheap incense and chemicals, especially in the opening. I get both of those, ruining Black Magic for me. On the other hand, if you enjoy juicy blackberry and frangipani woven into a complex Oriental, that's all there, too. Again, this one is not for me -- but might be just the thing for you!

Inscense, Flowers, and Blackberry! Wow I have gotten so many compliments on this one!

      Insense, flowers, and blackberry!

Some scents are artistic, a huge bonus in my book but this one is just strange. Hardly wearable with a sweet and oily quality. Not for me..

    5. Delightful. 4 Star Review

Bold, bombastic and tawdry. Black Magic is one of the best, and most accessible offerings from Sebastiane.
Sweet, green, fruity and slightly dusty, Black Magic sings with sweet green fruit and heady yellow florals. The overall effect for me is rather like the unburnt sticks of some brands of cheap stick incense. That may not exactly sound like a good thing - but in this case it most assuredly is. Wearable, unisex and unique, a real stand out for an excellent price.

All in all it's a vampy, fresh, fun frag to wear. A true delight. Longevity is decent, sillage is pretty powerful.

    6. Black Magic 4 Star Review

I ordered the sample pack and this is my favorite of the line. I don't get much of the top notes as the initial scent seems to be dominated by Rose and Blackberry. The dry down is a nice mix of benzoin and vanilla with some leather in the background. It's definitely original and unlike any scent I've tried before, perfect for fall/winter.

    7. Lovely heart, but the opening is not my kind of magic... 3 Star Review

Posted by on 5th Apr 2014

About half an hour in, a lovely dark amber/vanilla/tonka/patchouli with a subtle, spicy feel unfolds. IF you get there. The lengthy opening is a blast of spicy, chemical tangerine that saw me wondering if I had grabbed the right sample. If only a wave of the magic wand would make stage two start immediately!

    8. Truly Sexy 5 Star Review

This is a beautiful scent. While it is smoky, there is a rose note that may not be evident in the sample. I bought the full bottle. It is a "grown-up" scent, its sexy and multi-faceted.

    9. Ever Changing 5 Star Review

This is my favorite fragrance of the bunch, I get Amber, Vanilla, Leather and Patchouli, it's plain beautiful, the notes in this just bounce off one another, it changes a lot, smells different from hour to hour, perfect for the fall and winter weather, I get average projection and good longevity, Rating 10/10
