    Amouse Bouche

    by DSH Perfumes

A succulent strawberry gourmand perfume layered within an aldehydic floriental design.

Created for the Denver Art Museum’s “Passport to Paris” exhibit, and inspired by Toulouse-Lautrec’s “The Dunce’s Cap”, ca. 1888-90, Amouse Bouche is a warm, delightful, filled with fun, scent that begins with the strawberry aldehyde, takes you through a classical floral heart to finish with rich wood and buttery brioche.

    1. Amouse Bouche. 1 Star Review

Posted by on 25th Aug 2016

I love the scent of bread (I have several bread perfume oils, but I think it's done best in Serge Lutens' Jeux de Peau), so I was eager to try this for the 'buttery brioche.' I'm not getting anything bread-like from this at all, though, and I find Amouse Bouche to be sickly, cloying sweet.
This smells like pink bubblegum, complete with a powdery finish, mixed with hints of cinnamon chewing gum (that turns to a spicy carnation-like scent on me in the drydown) and strawberry syrup.
A very accurate representation of the scent of chewing gum on my skin, but not what I was hoping for at all. Flat and way too sweet on me.
