Of bowlers and British Isles, the green carnation pays homage to the discreet boutonnière worn by Oscar Wilde to recognize kindred spirits of "wit and wisdom.” Absinthe envelops a classic carnation soliflore accord; lavender and aged patchouli add a bespoke Savile Row flair.

While I'm not generally a fan of carnation, the herbal and patchouli aspects of this scent brings things into an earthy/clean and spicy place. The patchouli is quite forward on my skin but settled in to allow the carnation (and possibly a bit of iris?) to find their way to the fore after a short wait. Like many other niche fragrances, this isn't quite to my taste for a regular scent, but I can think of several friends that could easily wear this as a signature scent.

It's easy to tell this is a well made scent. I bought it un sniffed. My mistake. I did smell lavender, but the scent on my skin screamed "saffron!"
