“I've always found the beauty of our California oaks and coastal redwoods to be inspiring and soothing, and I've also enjoyed gardening with fragrant flowers as far back as I remember. My mother and grandmother grew sweet peas, roses, and jasmine that I loved, so I asked if I could grow them in my own first garden as a girl. Growing flowers in my gardens over the years sparked my interest in blending essential oils, but I soon discovered I enjoyed blending with woods, incense, and spice notes as much as with florals. Sourcing the best ingredients is one part of the job I enjoy the most. I've sampled and studied thousands of botanical essences, perfumery ingredients, and fine perfumes from large and small fragrance houses around the world.” — Laurie Erickson
